When I wake up early in the morning

There's nothing like being woken up at 6.15 on a Saturday out of a dead sleep and being expected to remember the differences between the data warehouse reports and the brio reports and which processes are dependent upon which in order to do an out of cycle run so the users can do their end of fiscal year processing. Not to say there's nothing better, just that there's nothing like it.

And what the hell are the users doing at work at 6am on a Saturday

Crusader, please take me with you

We were talking about last names. One of the testers was complaining about taking the man's last name. She want into a diatribe about how her husband's last name (Moore) sucks and she doesn't really get along with his family so she didn't want to take the name etc.

Her: And it's not like they're even all Moores
Me: No, some are Saxons.

Nobody laughed.

Never repetitive highly competitive

It's not TAR, but there's a couple of interesting entries in the mortalblog competition.

I'm liking (and linking) Toad, Freddie, and sometimes Gecko.

I'm a little curious about the current challenge, where the winner get '15 health/poison points'. What determines if they are health or poison points? Is it a roll of the dice and the winner might actually end up losing points? Because that would rock.

So fresh and so clean

Interesting story about reverse graffiti. It would be even cooler if they did it by removing existing graffiti rather than dirt, but it's an interesting idea nonetheless.

See your face in every place that I walk in

"You are agents of Iran and Zionism. We will crush your heads" - Saddam Hussein.

Someone has been watching KITH reruns I guess. It's hard to not laugh at the imagery of him squeezing his fingers together in the courtroom...

I'm ten years down the road

Why would anyone want to commemorate the day that the Bush cabal exploited a tragedy in order to bring us one step closer to being a banana republic like the ones that his dad was so fond of setting up in South America?

Of course in Bush 2.0 they add in a remarkably intolerant Christian fundamentalism that lauds violence and accumulation of wealth over all else. Which was, as I recall, Jesus' primary message.

I see nothing good that came of the attacks, only very very bad. Decreased safety. Decreased Civil Liberties. Jingoism. Racism. Profiteering. Fundamentalism. Colonialism. Those are the legacies that come of the terrorist attacks. They've achieved precisely their
goal.

You gotta make a big impressiong

One of the owners of the company I subcontract to was visiting today. When the email went out about "please maintain a professional demeanor" I of course asked if that meant I should stay home. I did not stay home.

I was out of our office area for a bit, and came back in through the door nearest my cube. This is a hazardous area as the 'lunch room' (read: fridge, table, microwave, coffee machine. It's really a closet) is right there. And of course I slammed the door right into the owner hard enough to almost knock her over. At least she'll remember me.

All I do is fess up while they keep it outta sight

I do not get the appeal of the Pussycat Dolls. It's 'burlesque'. I get that. But it's fairly mediocre burlesque, with mediocre music supporting it. It's all tease by C level singing 'talent' and B level dancing. Is it because the few videos actually shown on eMptyTV these days didn't already show enough cleavage and booty-shakin?

It reminds me of working at the video store and the old guys who would come in and rent 3-4 Playboy videos at a time. I understand wanting something classier and more refined than raw porn, but at least pick something that's not boring and tepid. The Victoria's Secret catalog is sexier than Playboy, and has better articles.
