Voice XML

Work on VXML as replacement for VR systems for CWI.
Starting to look into Voice XML . I'm evaluating VXML as the next generation of IVR, replacing the legacy systems and providing functionality not available in traditional IVR systems.
Update: VXML is remarkably simple, just as WDSL/WAP are. It also has some fairly interesting applications as a replacement for traditional VM systems. The dynamic aspect of VXML and ability to tap into a knowledge based make it especially useful in the context of providing FAQs etc to people with vision problems.
Update: HearMe is having troubles, so my proof of concept piece is currently down. Shame really, it was a simple app that would pull a QOTD from a textfile and read it, or allow you to hear it as read by a professional voice-over talent.
June.2001 update: HearMe has gone mute. Until another service provide comes along, any demos will have to be run internally on our voice server at the Denver office.
